Organizational Effectiveness Consulting

 Martin’s management consulting is focused exclusively on making organizations more successful. The term he likes to use (Organizational Effectiveness) has multiple interpretations, but to him it means one basic thing: Improved Performance and Better Results. Martin achieves this for his clients through several methodologies he has developed over the years. Two of the most powerful are his IMPACT strategic planning model and his MVC management framework (Maximum Value Creation). Both of these systems provide any entity with a simple and straightforward basis for strategic decision-making, complemented by a structured process for implementation and execution.

Martin’s IMPACT model is a proven tool for developing actionable and measurable strategic plans. It was adopted by the American Management Association in 2017 and is now the foundation for their Strategic Planning seminars. Clients who have used this find that their strategic plans provide clear guidance on future direction, top priorities, and resource allocation.  

The MVC methodology is based on the Twelve (12) Forms of Value, a framework Martin created that enables organizations to focus on those aspects of their operations that matter most for success. By choosing the “first among equals” from this suite of Value types, the entity’s leadership is assured of enterprise-wide alignment and efficient focus.

This Organizational Effectiveness consulting practice includes training sessions, facilitation of various planning activities, on-going support, and monitoring of progress as needed. The scope, time frame, and deliverables are negotiable on a client-by-client basis.

Custom Leadership and Management Training

Martin has conducted hundreds of seminars, webinars, and workshops on the full spectrum of leadership and management topics. He makes a point of augmenting his lectures with individual exercises, group activities, and a set of mini-case studies based on each client’s industry and current environment. This customization aspect is especially important because it makes the material as relevant and impactful as possible.  Martin also provides simple yet powerful tools which enhance the practical application of course content. These ensure that the maximum benefit is derived for every participant.

Clients have included corporations and small businesses in a range of different industries, Federal agencies, and non-profits in both the cause-based and association space. The content has covered many important and timely leadership topics including cultural transformation, adaptability, and driving innovation; critical management skills such as strategic planning, operational efficiency, and performance optimization; and “soft” skills like Emotional Intelligence, effective communication, and employee motivation among many others. Modalities available are multi-day seminars, hands-on workshops, 1-hour webinars, podcasts, and other forms of content delivery.

Executive Mentoring and Personal Coaching

Martin provides individual advisory services to professionals of all levels, with a strong emphasis on enhancing their skills and achieving their career goals. He leverages his own diverse corporate experience and expertise in leadership and management training to create personalized action plans for each client. Although he works within many different scenarios, Martin has two niches that are particularly well-developed: People who want to pursue a career change, and C-level executives seeking an outside perspective. He typically identifies three alternative paths for moving forward, thereby enabling his clients to give careful consideration to the trade-offs. These are based on a customized self-assessment survey that the individual completes at the beginning of the process. Once they decide which path to pursue, Martin’s clients receive a detailed roadmap for redirecting their career success.

As an author of three books on leadership, Martin views his mission to be proactively supporting people who want to become better leaders. He is especially passionate about enabling the next generation of leaders, which he believes are needed now more than ever. These individuals will embrace three pillars or core values: Thoughtful Leadership, Enlightened Purpose, and Wellness Modeling. Martin is currently developing e-learning content to complement his personalized coaching services.
